What is The Triple3 Effect? It all started in 2020, during lockdown. Maybe it was stress related, maybe a coincidence, but nevertheless it was certainly a strange sequence of events. This rather odd sequence of events which I named the Triple3 Effect led me to starting a new project, opening doors of opportunity and in fact, it is the very reason I’m now writing this introduction. The first time it happened, I thought: wow, that’s a bit odd but then it happened again the following night and soon after, many nights to follow. I soon began to realise, imagine and believe that there might be a little more to this strange phenomenon. 3:33am was the time on my clock when I woke up those first two nights - nothing odd you might think. However, when it starts to become a recurring pattern you begin to question what makes me or my sub[1]conscious decide or know to wake up at precisely 3:33am. Maybe it wasn’t me, maybe it was our dog Blue waking up and making a noise which in turn woke me, either way it was all very strange, and this pattern has continued to this day. Only this very morning whilst in a meeting at work, going through a live project on our database, the numbers popped up again: 333 live projects reminding me to write this introduction. These patterns keep appearing and the numbers continue to reveal themselves in many places. The balance on my account, my gas bill, the change in the supermarket, the miles travelled… you name it, 333 keeps rearing its head. After a bit of online research and sharing this phenomenon on social media, many people have come forward with similar stories and reasons why these numbers appear. Some say it’s a lucky sign, whilst others say it’s my angel numbers trying to tell me something and people have even said it is the time spirit’s visit. For me however, it’s something I could channel as a positive rather than worrying myself that I’m in the matrix or the vaccine has some kind of control. Maybe it is something built in as I have always been able to wake myself up without the need of an alarm clock, just never as accurately as within a minute and repeatedly. It was however a great starting point to make this album, as lying awake at 3:33am you can either think about all the things bothering you in life or if you’re me, you are planning the next big adventure. I’m a daydreamer: I have always believed that nothing in this life is unachievable if you put your mind to it. Don’t get me wrong, you can’t be an Olympic contender overnight, but if you want to be one, you could find the path and do the graft. Achieving goals in Hip Hop or life in general is something I have always strived for and continually write lists to do this. To get an opportunity to work with the artists on this album, has been nothing short of a dream come true. The 19-year-old me would have literally freaked out seeing who is on this line up and I’m very humbled and honoured that these guys are making these dreams a reality. So anyway, back to the story. At 3:33am I was often alert and able to start thinking about who I could contact the next day about doing a track. All these crazy ideas were going around my head, a bit like creating a pizza with all your favourite toppings, and I would write a list to pursue the following day. To my surprise nearly all the original list that came out of these 3:33am duvet brainstorms became a reality and here we are. It has been a really humbling experience making this album and I think a lot of the content is so reflective of the time we are living right now. So many people have played a part in making this dream a reality, whether through being supportive or playing a part in the production. As always huge respect and thank you to each and every one of you. What I hope people get from this is that if you have a dream then follow it, if you have a goal then achieve it and always believe in yourself and people around you.
